So it is the first nuclear power plant for Bangladesh. by this they go one step ahead in the world. this plant much wanted and needed for Bangladesh and Bangladeshi people. it also a step for developing Bangladesh. this is the high hope that friendship between

The Prime Minister was addressing the members of the faculty and students of Moscow State University on the topic 'Contemporary Bangladesh Perspective for Collaboration with Russia'. Prof Victor Sadovnichy, Rector of the Moscow State University, was also present.
She said there are a number of areas where Bangladesh and Russia could engage now for mutual benefits. There are again other areas where benefits may not be visible now, but tapping them may allow substantial benefits to flow in the future. Mentioning that her visit to the Russian Federation is the second one by a Bangladesh Prime Minister, Hasina said the purpose is to consolidate the friendship between the two countries and strengthen it with productive cooperation; a potential area being trade.

"In the 70s, our two countries' trade was significant, though mostly under the barter system. Today, the bilateral trade is mere half a billion US dollars with Russia exporting to Bangladesh double the quantity of what we export to Russia."
But, the prospects are huge - especially now with Russia's joining the WTO (World Trade Organisation), she said, adding that it will open the combined market of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus in the Customs Union of 180 million people to Bangladeshi goods, which will balance the trade.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh's 160 million people now enjoying increasing purchasing power, trade have the possibility of surpassing all expectations. Even the service sectors will open up at both ends. "To meet the demand, Russia and the Customs Union countries could recruit work force from Bangladesh."
Just after the Independence of the country, she mentioned, Bangladesh visited Russia in March 1972
to express the gratitude of Bangladesh to the Russian government and its
people.

Dhaka and Moscow also signed six MoUs on agriculture, public health and medical science and counterterrorism to bolster bilateral ties between the two countries.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister and her Russian counterpart Segey Lavrov inked the MoU on the cooperation on counter-terrorism between the two countries.
The MoUs are on cooperation on the public health and medical science, agriculture, education, culture, law, justice and parliamentary affairs were signed by Foreign and Russian Health Minister Veronika Igorevna Skvortsova, Agriculture Minister Nikoly Vasilyevich Fyodorov, Education Minister Dmitry Viktorovich Livanov, Cultural Minister Valdimir Rostislavovich Medinsky and Justice Minister Alexander Vladimirovich Konovalov.news video ...........
